At the Eldon Hotel we appreciate that there is an adventurer in all of us, but one that may also like good food and a warm, dry, comfortable bed to retire to at the end of an activity filled day. Also visitors at the Eldon Hotel can enjoy a good Pint of the Black Stuff or maybe join in a sing along until the small hours without even leaving the Hotel. We can combine a days walking or cycling mid way through your kayaking trip, for example, to ease those aching shoulders and get the other parts of the body exercised and ready for the next days fun. Safety comes first whatever activity you participate at in the Eldon Hotel, for example everyone on our kayaking days is judged to assess his or her standard before setting out. Our Instructor Jim Kennedy from Atlantic Sea Kayaking has 25 years experience and is a Sea Kayaking Training Officer with the Irish Canoe Union. He is also a level 4 Sea Kayak Coach. Jim also leads Kayaking expeditions in Spain and Mexico. Jim is the person who leads our walks and has a relaxed approach, pointing out areas of interest and historical note.
Skibbereen is home to the West Cork of Traditional Music and many fine musicians play in the pubs of the town. Whether you
stay for the "craic agus ceol" in our own pub or venture out and about in the area, we can direct you to some of
the best traditional music in Ireland. West Cork plays host to music festivals throughout the year. We can also
arrange for lessons if you wish to have a go yourself.
